Workshops and Training
While many people working in marketing will have completed a marketing degree or professional qualification – there are few training programmes that specialise in education marketing for FE Colleges and schools.
We see the same problems arising in FE and schools marketing – which suggests that mainstream marketing training doesn’t address the specific issues unique to further education and schools.
Our training and workshops are designed around the specific requirements for colleges and schools. They are linked to the recruitment cycle with a deep understanding of the markets and what’s important to them.

The Complete Guide to College Marketing
October – Date TBC – Chartered Institute of Marketing Moor Hall, Cookham
Join us for this unique workshop unveiling the College Marketing Model which provides a comprehensive framework for structuring and managing your college marketing successfully. The model has been implemented in numerous FE Institutions (GFEs, Sixth Forms, Adult Colleges, Specialist Colleges, Training Providers) with impressive results and long-term sustainable success.
The workshop will be led by Fiona Carthy and the team from Carthy Communications who have over 25 years of experience in the sector and have been successfully engaged by over 20 colleges, schools and other education-based organisations to review, audit and embed new marketing systems with great success.
Specialist speakers will be joining the panel to share their expertise.
“We come across the same issues when we are called in to review the marketing functions in colleges. Hard pressed, reactive teams who are under pressure and firefighting – this all stems back to lack of structure and strategic engagement. We help to bring our model into play starting with the basic housekeeping and then building out to establish a thriving marketing framework owned and understood by the whole organisation. Our success rate is outstanding with all of our clients seeing growth in recruitment and sustainable positioning in the market” – Fiona Carthy (FCIM, MComn, DipCIPR).
